Wynnstay Farmers Oswestry & a stock alteration

 

I recently finished a stock alteration job for Helen, who works at my local gun shop, Wynnstay Country Store in Oswestry. I thought I’d shoot a little video touring the place and getting her feedback, which you can watch below!

I’m sure you’re familiar with Wynnstay already, but I am a regular in my local store for various reasons. They’re brilliantly stocked with everything you could want – new and second-hand guns, equipment, cartridges, clothing and accessories, etc… If you live in the area it’s absolutely the place to go. You’ll find it located on the Oswestry Industrial Estate, Unit 5 Glovers Meadow (SY10 8NH).

I also do quite a bit of work through them and you can call in at this Wynnstay if you want to get a hold of me or need work doing on a stock. Helen – who happens to be the client I did the stock alteration for – is always happy to help out with any enquiries and can pass your jobs on to me.

As Helen explains in the video below, there were a few problems with the stock that she wanted me to fix. The most obvious was that the stock was too long and needed a good half inch removing, and it was cast slightly to the left. Also the checkering was a bit too sharp on the hand.

I resolved all of those issues, as well as adding a new recoil pad. The original plastic one had been leaving bruises when she used the gun. All in all I was aiming to make the shooting experience a lot more comfortable for Helen. I was glad to hear she’s now looking forward to taking it out again.
